Bharva Bhindi, also known as Stuffed Okra, is a popular Indian dish where fresh okra (bhindi) is slit and stuffed with a flavourful mixture of spices. It's a delicious and aromatic preparation that highlights the unique taste and texture of bharva bhindi. Here's a simplified explanation of the process:
Ingredients
- 250g fresh bhindi
- 2 tsp KPG Sabji Masala
- 1 tsp KPG coriander powder
- 1 tsp KPG dry mango powder (amchur)
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp KPG red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 4 tsp cooking oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Steps
- Wash and slit bhindi, keep aside.
- Mix KPG Sabji Masala, KPG coriander powder, KPG amchur powder, cumin powder, KPG red chili powder, and salt for stuffing.
- Sauté stuffing mix in 2 tsp oil until fragrant, then cool.
- Stuff bhindi with the masala mixture evenly.
- In a pan, heat 2 tbsp oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chopped onions, and sauté until translucent.
- Add ginger-garlic paste, sauté for 2 minutes.
- Place stuffed bhindi in the pan, cover, and cook on low-medium heat for 15-20 minutes, tossing occasionally.
